Kerr's debut under this alias came in the shape of Black Knight's Tango - a EP written as a response to the loss of his brother Conor to cancer, aged 34. What emerged was an EP inspired by 80s electro and the soundtracks of the brothers’ youth but with a distinctive contemporary feel and a complete disregard for the ‘normal’ arrangements and structures found within dance music. Belfast DJ Neil Kerr, otherwise known as Mount Palomar, is one of Ireland's most intriguing up and coming producers. Reflecting on time spent at the chess club he and Conor attended as kids, Neil began to question his recent search for escapism in clubs via substances that were inevitably doing more harm than good. To help fill the winterval chess gap, made worse by the cancellation of the Durham Congress, we’re having a themed blitz tournament on the Thursday 20th December at the New Ship Inn. Spread across 52 minutes on twin vinyl, his debut release was written as a response to the loss of his brother Conor to cancer, aged 34. Having been invited to play live at Berghain just days after his debut gig, chosen to play London Printworks for his London debut and having received the support and backing of respected Belfast promoters Twitch and the AVA Festival crew, 2018 saw Mount Palomar and his modular system sharing stages with acts such as Objekt, Hunee, Ross From Friends, ND Baumecker, Helena Hauff and many more…. Belfast based Mount Palomar releases his debut EP, Black Knight’s Tango, following 12 months that have seen him establish himself as one of Ireland’s most exciting up and coming producers.
